About the Role

As the Assistant Boutique Manager at By Maxwell, you will lead daily operations, drive sales, and deliver exceptional customer experiences in our luxury retail and beauty environment. You’ll oversee inventory management, staff performance, and client relationships while fostering a collaborative and high-performing team culture. With a focus on both operational strategy and client service, you’ll ensure the boutique runs smoothly and meets its business goals. Additionally, you’ll manage our social media presence to enhance brand visibility and engage with clients online. Your leadership will be key in creating a positive, results-driven atmosphere that elevates both the boutique’s performance and the client experience. Responsibilities

Operational Strategy Development & Execution

  • Lead the day-to-day operations of the boutique, ensuring smooth functioning across all areas, including sales, inventory, and customer service.
  • Develop and implement strategies to drive boutique performance, achieve sales targets, and maintain high operational standards.
  • Implement efficient processes and procedures that can be duplicated and executed by the team, streamlining operations to maximize productivity and consistency across tasks.
  • Develop and manage systems for maintaining member accounts (EFTs), ensuring that all client and service data is accurately tracked and easily accessible for a seamless client experience.
  • Manage inventory, including stock levels, reordering, and organizing product displays to ensure a consistently well-stocked and attractive environment both on the retail floor and in the back-of-house.
  • Uphold By Maxwell’s brand standards by implementing and upholding all boutique policies and procedures, ensuring compliance with company standards and health & safety regulations, boutique’s cleanliness, organization, and visual appeal, ensuring an inviting and luxurious atmosphere for customers.
  • Manage product selection and coordinate with suppliers to ensure the boutique’s inventory aligns with the latest trends, client needs, and seasonal offerings.
  • Stay current with industry trends and market insights, using this knowledge to inform business strategies and keep the boutique ahead of the competition.
  • Monitor and analyze key performance metrics, adjusting operational strategies to optimize performance and profitability.

Client Relations

  • Build and maintain strong, lasting relationships with clients, offering personalized recommendations and exceptional service to create an unforgettable shopping and beauty experience.
  • Address customer inquiries, complaints, and special requests promptly and professionally, ensuring high levels of client satisfaction.
  • Curate exclusive experiences and personalized services (such as consultations for beauty treatments, jewelry fittings, or private shopping sessions) to strengthen client loyalty.
  • Continuously engage with clients to understand their preferences, keeping detailed records to offer a tailored experience.
  • Coordinate with the beauty and spa team to ensure seamless service delivery for clients receiving treatments, including hairstyling, facials, botox, and lashes.
  • Develop and implement loyalty programs, events, and promotions to drive repeat business and increase client retention.
  • Keep the owner informed of brand initiatives, guest experiences, and customer feedback to ensure alignment on business direction and client satisfaction.
  • Provide the owner with in-depth analysis of shop performance, integrating insights on guest experiences, financial data, and employee performance to support strategic decision-making.

Leadership & Culture

  • Inspire and lead a team of sales associates, stylists, and beauty professionals to deliver exceptional service in a positive and dynamic environment.
  • Communicate organizational objectives in an inspirational and clear manner, ensuring staff understands the vision and goals of the boutique.
  • Set and execute clear, achievable goals for both individual team members and the collective business unit, with defined expectations for results and timelines.
  • Provide the team with the guidance and direction needed to accomplish both individual and collective goals through consistent coaching and corrective action when necessary.
  • Foster a culture of learning, growth, and continuous improvement by promoting development opportunities and encouraging staff to align with By Maxwell’s mission, vision, and values.
  • Promote and embody a culture of excellence and dedication to By Maxwell’s brand, ensuring that all team members reflect the brand’s standards and commitment to client satisfaction.
  • Motivate the team to achieve individual and collective sales targets while maintaining a focus on client satisfaction and the boutique's overall success.
  • Lead by example with a hands-on approach, modeling excellent customer service, professionalism, and work ethic.

Brand Presence & Social Media Platform Management

  • Oversee and manage the boutique’s social media presence, ensuring all content aligns with By Maxwell’s brand image, values, and overall aesthetic.
  • Develop and execute a social media strategy to engage current and potential clients, promote new products, services, and events, and drive foot traffic to the boutique.
  • Drive brand awareness and engagement within the local community by collaborating with local businesses to cross-promote services and offerings.
  • Create and maintain an active and engaging presence on social media, posting 3 times daily across all platforms (picture, reel, picture), and ensuring each platform features 3 to 6 stories per day to keep the brand visible and engaging.
  • Collaborate with the marketing team to produce visually compelling and engaging content for Instagram, Facebook, TikTok, and other platforms, ensuring consistency across all channels.
  • Monitor and manage customer interactions across social media, responding promptly and professionally to maintain positive engagement and build a strong online community.
  • Track and analyze social media metrics to evaluate the effectiveness of campaigns, adjusting strategies based on performance data to continuously improve engagement and results.
  • Work closely with the sales and creative teams to ensure social media campaigns align with in-store promotions, seasonal offerings, and overall branding, maintaining a cohesive and unified message across all channels.

Qualifications

  • Strong background in fashion, beauty, or lifestyle industries.
  • Proven leadership and team management skills with experience motivating a team to achieve performance goals.
  • Experience in inventory management, sales forecasting, and budgeting.
  • Exceptional customer service skills with a passion for creating unique, personalized experiences.
  • Knowledge of beauty services (such as hairstyling, lashes, facials, botox) is a plus.
  • Familiarity with point-of-sale systems, scheduling software, and general retail operations.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong organizational and multitasking abilities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
  • Must have a positive, proactive, and adaptable attitude.

Working Conditions

  • This role is based at our By Maxwell Boutique & Beauty Salon location, with a vibrant, fast-paced environment.
  • Standard schedule for this role are Monday to Saturday, 10AM - 7PM CST (Tuesdays & Sundays off), with occasional flexibility required for special events, promotions, or ad-hoc tasks.
  • Some tasks may involve running errands or assisting with salon-related needs, which could require time outside of traditional office duties.
  • The role may involve standing for extended periods, managing multiple tasks at once, and working closely with both the fashion boutique and beauty salon teams.
