Summary of Position

The Director of Security will oversee all aspects of security operations to ensure a safe and secure environment for all guests, colleagues, and assets. The Director of Security will bring extensive experience in hospitality security, a strategic mindset, and a commitment to maintaining the highest standards of safety and service.

Roles and Responsibilities

Job duties include; although are not limited to:

• Develop and implement comprehensive security strategies aligned with the hotel's overall goals.
• Collaborate with senior management to integrate security initiatives seamlessly into the guest experience.
• Lead, mentor, and manage the security team, fostering a culture of professionalism, integrity, and continuous improvement.
• Conduct regular training sessions to ensure the team is well-equipped to handle security challenges effectively.
• Oversee daily security operations, including surveillance, access control, and emergency response procedures.
• Conduct regular risk assessments and implement measures to mitigate potential security threats.
• Liaise with other departments to ensure a cohesive and integrated approach to security within the hotel.
• Communicate security protocols and updates effectively to all colleagues.
• Stay abreast of the latest security technologies and implement systems that enhance overall security effectiveness.
• Manage and optimize the use of CCTV, access control, and other security technologies.
• Develop and implement protocols for responding to security incidents, ensuring swift and effective resolution.
• Conduct thorough investigations into security breaches and incidents, providing detailed reports.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Proven experience in a leadership role within security, preferably in a luxury hotel environment.
• In-depth knowledge of security best practices, emergency response procedures, and risk management.
• Strong leadership and interpersonal skills with the ability to build and lead a high-performing team.
• Familiarity with relevant laws and regulations related to hotel security.
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to interact professionally with guests, colleagues, and external partners.
• Bachelor's degree in Security Management, Criminal Justice, or a related field preferred
• Relevant security certifications (CPP, PSP, etc.) preferred.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

• Ability to stand, walk, and move about the hotel for extended periods.
• Physical stamina to respond quickly and effectively in emergency situations.
• Capability to lift, carry, and move security equipment as needed.
• Visual and auditory acuity to monitor and assess security situations.
• Ability to perform duties in various weather conditions.
