Masking Technician I

Mayday Manufacturing is a leading Aerospace machining and metal finishing company in Denton, Texas that provides a dynamic work environment with cutting edge technology. Our company supports the growth and future of the Aerospace industry and is looking to add a 2nd Shift Masking Technician position to our team to contribute to our advancement.

Position Overview:

The Masking Technician I is responsible for masking parts using various types of masking tapes and techniques using a drawing as a guide. You are also responsible for removing masking after processing and touching up organic coatings as needed.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Learn and understand the terminology for the ERP system, processing specification requirements, masking, and masking removal techniques
• Learn and understand basic drawing interpretation skills as well as part lists
• Become familiar with process testing requirements
• Reading and interpreting documents such as work orders (job traveler), PO requirements, and specifications
• Mask and masking removal of parts using various types of measuring tools and tapes, dots, and plugs
• Fill out all paperwork correctly for work done
• Adhere to company Quality and Safety standards, policies and procedures at all times
• To meet the needs of our customers and colleagues, you are expected to be at your desk/station and ready to work at your designated start time

Skills:

• High level attention to detail and manual dexterity is required
• Must be able to communicate in English verbally and written
• Perform mid-level math skills efficiently and accurately (including addition, subtraction, multiplication and division)
• Ability to solve practical process or procedural problems/issues
• Critical Evaluation and thinking

Education / Licensing Requirements:

• High School diploma or General Education Degree (GED)

Working Conditions:

• This job operates in a medium manufacturing/processing environment. Some exposure to processing elements such as noise, temperature and exposure to chemical processing materials that may require following safety precautions and the use of personal protective equipment

Starting Pay Rate:

• $13.71 - $16.59
• Shift Differential for 2nd Shift

May Require:

• Appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (eg Respirators, Hearing Protection, Chemical Resistant Clothing, Safety Shoes, etc) may be required
