Maintenance Technician

Mayhill Hospital located in Denton, TX just north of Dallas and Fort Worth, is a 59-bed private psychiatric hospital specializing in mental health and chemical dependency care for adults and seniors. We are one of the few facilities in the area that can provide care to those individuals with both coexisting psychiatric and medical conditions. We are uniquely trained to provide care to seniors who have exhausted their psychiatric days. Mayhill Hospital is seeking a dynamic and talented Maintenance Technician. In this role, you perform a variety of tasks to maintain the hospital care environment, including painting, carpentry, plumbing, electrical, preventive maintenance, and various janitorial duties with minimal supervision.

Qualifications

Education: High school graduate or equivalent preferred; two years of technical or trade school preferred.

Experience: Must have experience in operating a variety of hand/power tools and equipment ensuring proper safety precautions. Must have experience in the area of building maintenance, basic mechanical engineering, painting/wall repair, electrical, carpentry and plumbing. Basic computer knowledge of hardware/software and peripherals as well as skills in MS Office applications preferred. Prior experience in healthcare/familiarity with Joint Commission standards preferrred.

Licensure: Must have a valid driver’s license. CPR certification and training in appropriate use of CPI Non-violent Crisis Intervention before on the unit orientation and prior to assisting in a restraining process. May be required to work overtime and flexible hours, part of on-call rotation.
