Position Summary:
Assist technician with repairs of alarm systems, such as fire and security as well as intercom systems and equipment such as radios, speakers, transmitters, and related antenna and cable assemblies. These repairs must be completed according to product specification, manufacturing instructions and diagrams, using test equipment, hand tools & soldering iron. Other duties include but are not limited to; Reading inspection tags and examining unit to locate defects such as broken wires or burned-out components using electronic test equipment. Inspecting wiring and removing broken wires from units. Cutting new wire to specified lengths, using wire cutters, or obtaining pre-cut wires. Re-routing and soldering wires to specified terminals by following wiring diagram. Repairing defective soldering. Removing, repairing, or replacing defective components, such as resisters, transformers, and capacitors, using a variety of hand tools and brushing touch-up paint on cabinet or case, and varnish on exposed wiring.
Requirements:
- Must pass criminal background check and pre-employment drug screen.
- Must be able to pass NC licensing board requirements (Requires clear criminal background).
- Valid driver's license required.
- Demonstrate a thorough knowledge of all types of hand tools.
- Must have a positive and cooperative attitude and excellent attendance.
- Must be able to get along with fellow workers, other tradesmen on the job site, inspectors, customers and the public.
- Must be able to carry 50 pounds.
- Properly use safety equipment and personal protective equipment.
