We are seeking a motivated and talented Associate Attorney to join our Civil Litigation Defense team in our Bloomington, Minnesota office. The ideal candidate will have 0-5 years’ experience, possess a strong background in various areas of law, including Personal Injury, Auto Liability and Construction Litigation, excellent analytical skills, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment. This position requires exceptional legal drafting skills and proficiency in legal research tools such as Lexis-Nexis. The successful candidate will be responsible for representing clients in litigation matters and providing comprehensive legal support within a law office environment.
Some experience is a plus, but not a requirement, and we will provide training and mentoring. You will ultimately be responsible for managing cases from inception through resolution, providing exceptional legal advice, and playing a critical role in the success of our firm.
Key Responsibilities:
- Represent clients in court proceedings and other legal matters.
- Prepare and draft legal documents, including pleadings, motions, and briefs.
- Conduct thorough legal research to support case strategies.
- Collaborate with clients to understand their needs and provide tailored legal advice.
- Negotiate settlements on behalf of clients when appropriate.
- Maintain accurate records of all case-related activities and communications.
- Assist with trial preparation and strategy development.
Qualifications:
- Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
- Admission to the bar in Minnesota.
- Experience in litigation preferred.
- Strong legal drafting skills with attention to detail.
- Proficiency in using Lexis-Nexis for legal research.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving abilities.
