Role Description
We are looking for a paralegal with outstanding writing and organizational skills, a good work ethic, strong interpersonal and communication skills. This is a full-time role located on-site in Des Moines, IA.
Duties include but are not limited to:
- Managing cases and preparing for deadlines and hearings
- Drafting case pleadings, discovery requests, demand letters, responses to opposing counsel, etc.
- Supporting Client needs by maintaining contact with Clients on their case status, answering non-legal questions, etc.
- Assisting attorneys in preparing Clients and documents for trial/hearings
- Organizing case files and monitoring case deadlines and upcoming hearings
- Anticipating the assigned attorneys’ needs to help provide support and case management
Required skills include strong attention to detail, fast learner, proficiency in word processing, the ability to manage and organize a heavy caseload, great people skills, strong writer for legal documents, the ability to juggle multiple activities and work under pressure. Two years of progressively responsible paralegal, legal assistant or executive assistant experience. Competitive salary and benefits.
