Job Title:
A Part-Time Yard Crewmember is needed to assist customers in the lumberyard, operate a forklift, stock products, and provide general store support.
Key Responsibilities:
- Greet customers as they enter the yard.
- Loading and unloading products into customers, vendors, and company vehicles safely and accurately.
- Respond to customer inquiries about products.
- Inform management or supervisor of any customer complaints or requests in a timely manner.
- Maintain a clean and organized lumberyard and warehouse by stacking products squarely and picking up bands, chocks, and trash.
- Verify that merchandise loaded matches customer or vendor ticket.
- Cover exposed materials to prevent weather damage.
- Cut lumber and other related materials as requested by the customer.
- Operate a forklift with precision and control.
Requirements:
- Ability to follow instructions without constant supervision.
- Remain professional and courteous at all times.
- Knowledge of weight distribution and loading patterns.
- The ability to adjust machine controls quickly and repeatedly to exact positions.
- Forklift operator certification required.
Physical Demands:
- Prolonged standing and movement throughout the yard and warehouse.
- Able to lift up to 80 pounds occasionally and push/pull 50-pound loads.
- The ability to perform repetitive movements over long periods.
Compensation:
$14.50 per hour
