Express Technician - Hyundai

About your role:

The Express Tech is responsible for performing oil changes, tire rotations, alignments, and other essential maintenance on all makes and models of automobiles. This position is responsible for providing fast, accurate, high-quality, efficient service and repairs. This is a Full- Time position that requires Saturday availability.

Essential Duties and Major Responsibilities:

• Diagnoses and repairs vehicles to specifications, ensuring they are safe to drive by doing test drives on vehicles, testing components and systems, and utilizing equipment such as infrared engine analyzers, compression gauges, and computerized diagnostic devices.
• Examines vehicles to determine all measured components/systems are in proper working order and have no malfunctions.
• Confers with advisors and/or customers to obtain descriptions of vehicle service requests and to discuss work to be performed and future repair requirements.
• Performs routine and scheduled maintenance services, such as oil changes, lubrications, alignments, tire rotation, flat repairs, fluid flushes, filter changes, and tune-ups.
• Disassembles units and inspects parts for wear using micrometers, calipers, and gauges.
• Repairs or replace parts such as wipers, filters, brakes, valves, and bearings.
• Closely inspect parts like hoses, belts, plugs, fuel systems, and other items.
• Follows Company safety policies and practices and immediately reports all accidents to the Manager/Supervisor.
• Assists with other duties as assigned.
• Follow scheduled hours as needed, defined by your manager.

Education:

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• Automotive trade or technical school is preferred.
• ASE certification is desirable.

Type of Experience Needed to be Successful:

• Entry Level – basic automotive understanding required.
• 1-year of automotive technician experience is preferred.

Specialized Skills:

• Strong attention to detail and customer service skills.
• Must maintain a valid state driver’s license to drive any customer or company vehicle.
• Ability to drive and handle various vehicle makes models, and sizes.
• Should own and supply a complete inventory of auto mechanical tools.
• Team-oriented, flexible, and focused on maintaining a high level of customer service.
• Working knowledge of shop equipment such as wheel and tire equipment, alignment systems, diagnostic equipment, AC equipment, etc.
• Desire to continue learning and ability to adapt to changes in technology and equipment.
• Excellent adherence to safety standards.
