Compensation / Schedule :
This is an exempt status, non-union position
Schedule : 5 days a week 8 hour shifts
Primary Purpose
The primary purpose of a Night Warehouse Supervisor is to oversee and assist in manage warehouse operations to ensure smooth an efficient warehouse operation during the night shift.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Determining staffing needs 90 days prior to anticipated increase in workflow.
- Screen all application for night warehouse and forward recommendations for interview to HR
- Analyze and assist in the resolution of work problems. Recommend and / or implement plans to motivate staff to achieve work goals.
- Schedule and assign personnel; achieve desired results; establish priorities; monitor progress; revise schedules; report results of shift production.
- Evaluate and recommend performance discipline to Night Warehouse Manager.
- Ensure daily work assignments are carried out in a timely manner and all deadlines are met.
- Comply with all environmental, health, safety, and housekeeping programs.
- Coach, guide and develop employees. Follow through by holding employees accountable for performance.
- Supervise the warehouse workers in the cleaning, picking, packing, repairing and processing all inventories for shipment and returned products.
- Work with Manager to create and supervise time clock use and resolve issues.
- Maintain a safe and clean work environment by training and leading personnel on the use of all equipment, and resources, maintaining compliance with established policies and procedures.
- Other duties as assigned.
Job / Behavioral Competencies
- Ability to read and understand invoices, instructions, and correspondence. Effectively present information in one-on-one situations to vendors, customers, and other employees of the organization.
- Ability to lead a team of pickers to successfully meet KPI standards.
- Strong communication skills with ability to relay company direction to work groups.
- Ability to carry out instructions furnished verbally by department manager.
- Organization and cleanliness of all departmental space. (dry / ref / frozen warehouse zones)
- Ability to train newly hired warehouse staff following the standard operating procedures in place.
Minimum Qualification and Experience
- A minimum of two years working in a production picking environment in a leadership capacity.
- Familiarity with Microsoft office
- Experience with a Warehouse Management System (WMS) or Power Productivity software
