We are seeking a detail-oriented and empathetic Legal Intake Specialist to join our team and be the first point of contact for potential clients.
Job Summary: The Legal Intake Specialist will be responsible for managing incoming calls, emails, and inquiries from potential clients. This role involves gathering essential information, assessing the nature of the legal issue, and scheduling consultations with attorneys. The ideal candidate will have excellent communication skills, a strong understanding of legal terminology, and the ability to handle sensitive information with discretion.
Key Responsibilities:
- Answer and screen incoming calls and emails from potential clients.
- Conduct initial client interviews to gather relevant information about their legal issues.
- Assess the urgency and nature of the legal matter and determine the appropriate course of action.
- Schedule consultations and appointments with attorneys.
- Maintain accurate and detailed records of client interactions and case information.
- Provide exceptional customer service and ensure a positive experience for all potential clients.
- Collaborate with attorneys and other staff to ensure a smooth intake process.
- Follow up with potential clients to provide updates and gather additional information as needed.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent; associate’s or bachelor’s degree preferred.
- Previous experience in a legal or customer service role is highly desirable.
- Strong understanding of legal terminology and processes.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Proficiency in using legal software and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $16.00 - $19.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40 per week
