About the Role
MML is seeking an experienced, hands-on Controller to lead our accounting operations and support the continued growth of our hospitality portfolio. This role is responsible for ensuring accurate financial reporting, maintaining strong internal controls, and partnering closely with leadership across a dynamic, multi-entity organization.
The ideal candidate brings both technical accounting expertise and an appreciation for the pace and nuance of hospitality. You are detail-oriented, collaborative, and comfortable balancing structure with creativity in a fast-moving environment.
Key ResponsibilitiesOversee all accounting operations, including general ledger, accounts payable and receivable, payroll, cash management, and intercompany transactions
Manage monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes across multiple entities
Prepare, review, and analyze financial statements in accordance with GAAP
Establish, maintain, and enhance internal controls, accounting policies, and procedures
Coordinate audits and serve as the primary point of contact for external auditors and tax advisors
Partner with finance leadership on budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis
Support new restaurant and hotel openings, acquisitions, and evolving business models
Lead, mentor, and develop the accounting team
Identify opportunities for process improvement, system optimization, and scalability
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (CPA strongly preferred)
7 years of progressive accounting experience, including people management
Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting requirements
Experience managing multi-entity accounting environments
Proficiency with accounting systems and ERPs (NetSuite experience a plus)
Exceptional attention to detail with the ability to see the broader financial picture
Strong communication skills and a collaborative leadership style
CPA or CMA certification
Hospitality industry experience (restaurants, hotels, or multi-concept portfolios) strongly preferred
Experience in high-growth, entrepreneurial, or creatively driven organizations
Experience supporting new openings or complex operational structures
