We are currently seeking a Project Director to join our team as a member of our growing Energy team. At McKinstry, it is our mission is to make every building we touch more efficient. In this position, you will ensure continuity, quality, risk mitigation, and profitability through all cycles of a project to develop legacy client relationships that meet client needs and promote business opportunities.
You're great at:
Project Management
You are the single point of accountability for developing and delivering high-quality solutions. You oversee all direct and indirect project-related activities during development and transition the project from development to implementation. You will negotiate customer contracts and minimize organizational risks around scope, schedule, budget, and margin goals.
Communication
You serve as the primary point of contact with the customer and inform internal and external customers of new offerings and upgrades.
Business Development
You develop and maintain client relationships at a variety of levels, in addition to formulating business and sales strategies with the team to drive additional work with our customers. You will support the sales staff by generating preliminary assessments, technical solutions, fee proposals, presentations, studies, and other sales support and project development information.
Team Management
You coach and develop members of the project team and manage cross-functional teams. You will act as a steward of McKinstry culture and communicate and influence policies and procedures.
What we would like to see from you:
- BA/BS degree in Construction Management, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Architecture or Facilities Management or equivalent field of study required. Fifteen (15) years of experience may substitute for education.
- Ten (10) years of engineering, construction, real estate, and/or facility services project management experience required.
- CEM, PE, LEED, CPM professional designations preferred.
- Intermediate working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and Project required; working knowledge of SharePoint and CRM preferred.
- Knowledge of:
- All phases of developing complex owner direct design-build projects preferred.
- Construction management, energy modeling calculations, and industry standard. efficiency improvement measures preferred.
- Customer business and financial models preferred.
- Performance contracting preferred.
- Complex financing options, proformas, and utility incentive programs preferred
- Contractual negotiations, procurement, and knowledge preferred.
- Comfortable speaking in front of others, creating and giving technical and sales presentations preferred.

The pay range for this position is $126,900 - $217,200 per year; however, base pay offered may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. A bonus may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the position offered. Base pay information is based on market location.
