What are the responsibilities and job description for the Registered Nurse - Pain Clinic position at McLaren Lapeer Region?
Position Summary
Responsible for nursing care of patients in the pain management area. Participates in patient care as a care provider and teacher to ensure safe and therapeutically effective nursing care. Assists in maintaining the work area. Determines care of patient assigned. Interprets and implements doctor’s orders. Able to critically think. Must be able to work various hours. Will be required to work until daily schedule completed, if needed.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities :
1.Performs purposeful hourly rounding including : Pain, Position, Personal needs and Possessions
2.Systematically and continuously assesses patient’s condition
3.Assures that clinical data is collected, documented, and communicated, and is able to determine appropriate nursing interventions
4.Assists physician during all procedures and office visits where needed
5.Demonstrates skills to prioritize patient care level and deliver care based on the acuity of patient
Qualifications : Required :
- Graduate of an accredited school of nursing
- Must possess valid State of Michigan Nursing License
- BLS Certified
- ACLS Certified within 3 months of hire and maintains certification
- Previous experience as a critical or PACU staff nurse
Preferred :
