Job Type: Full-time
Salary and Benefits: Compensation commensurate with experience (range includes upwards of $125,000).
Benefits include fully paid medical benefits, 2-weeks paid vacation after the first year, summer hours providing early closings on Fridays and a company-wide 10-day office closure at year-end for holidays.
Additional bonuses are paid each year based on the firm’s performance and employee’s performance.
Qualifications:
License/Certification:
- New Jersey and/or New York Bar (preferred).
- Florida and/or California Bar additional value.
- Minimum of five years of experience in advanced estate planning, including lifetime wealth transfer planning.
- Fluency in Microsoft Office suite (Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc.) a plus.
- Knowledge of Interactive Legal Suites a plus.
- Knowledge of Clio a plus.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills; demonstrated ability to interact with high-net worth individuals and other professional advisors.
Responsibilities:
- Initial planning consultations with potential and existing clients and strategy development.
- Draft estate planning and wealth transfer planning documents.
- Edit estate planning and wealth transfer planning documents prepared by others.
- Possess a full understanding of documents with the ability to explain planning strategies to clients.
- Direct clients and advisors regarding funding of Trusts.
- Engage appraisers and valuation firms for purposes of valuing taxable gifts.
- Converse comfortably with clients via Zoom, telephone, and/or in person.
- Commute to the New York City office at least twice per month for client meetings.
- Perform legal research upon request.
- Collaborate with estate planning team to ensure smooth workflow and client satisfaction.
Ability to commute/relocate:
- New Providence, NJ 07974: Reliably commute to or planning to relocate before starting work (Required).
- Firm hours are 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. with ability to work beyond these hours when necessary.
