What are the responsibilities and job description for the Head Softball Coach position at McPherson College?
This is a full-time, exempt 12-month position with full college benefits including a substantial retirement benefit after one year of employment as well as a full-tuition remission after two years of employment. This individual will be responsible for daily management, instruction, and administration of all phases of the Softball program in accordance with all NAIA and College regulations. Specific areas of responsibility include: instructing on practice, game preparation, and strategy; assistant coach and support staff supervision; recruitment of prospective student-athletes; retention of student-athletes, monitoring the academic progress of the Softball student-athletes; preparation and oversight of budget; community outreach; and program-specific and departmental fundraising.
The successful candidate must possess and will demonstrate excellent communication and organizational skills, strong work ethic and self-motivation, the ability and willingness to be a positive role model, department member, and representative of the college.
Bachelor’s Degree required, Masters’ preferred; three years of collegiate coaching experience required.
