- Produces high quality images for accurate interpretation while working collaboratively with other healthcare team members toward the best outcome for the patient and organization.
- PRN (as needed)
- Perform Ultrasound procedures using proper positioning and protocols for optimal diagnostic value.
- Proficient in, or ability and willingness to learn, procedures in multiple modalities to assure adequate workload coverage.
- Maintain working knowledge of equipment with ability to manipulate and maneuver safely as well as recognize malfunctions for safety of patient and operator.
- Ability to learn and maintain a working knowledge of current HIS, RIS and PACS systems utilized within the department to ensure timely and accurate patient records in addition to monthly study data collection.
- Obtain proper patient identification and medical history needed to ensure consistent and accurate patient care.
- Use safety measures and protection devices to comply with government regulations and to ensure the safety of patients and staff.
- Willingness to take evening and weekend calls on a rotation basis with other Ultrasound Technologists in the Department.
- Other duties as assigned by leadership.
Education:
- Associate degree or equivalent formal training program.
- Minimal Experience required, 2–3 years’ experience preferred.
- RDMS RVT(VT) required, OB/GYN, AB, AE preferred.
- Kansas State Board of Healing Arts (Exempt if Sonogram only)
- Basic Life Support (BLS)
- Neonate through Geriatric
- OSHA Category 1: Tasks that involve exposure to blood, body fluids, tissues, and other potentially infectious materials.
- Located in an indoor area with frequent exposure to mild physical discomfort from dust, fumes, temperature, & noise.
- Continuous physical exertion is required, such as walking/pushing, climbing, and lifting material or patients of > 50lbs.
- Sitting- 25% of the time Walking/standing- 75% of the time.
