Range Safety Officer

General Job Description:

• Ensures range safety for all customers, employees, and visitors at all times
• Maintains cleanliness and organization of shooting range
• Assists customers with range check in including selling ammunition, renting firearms, assigning lanes, and processing cash register transactions

Primary Responsibilities:

• The Range Safety Officer’s primary role is to ensure safety on the range by observing all shooters and respectfully, but immediately ceasing any behavior that could be considered unsafe
• Must be observant and possess the ability to make quick accurate decisions
• Must be able to use tact and be respectful when correcting unsafe behavior
• Works part of shift at range counter, must be able to accurately use a POS system and possess strong customer service skills
• Assist in opening & closing of range Monitor all activity on the shooting lanes at all times
• Ensure strict adherence to Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) for MGC at all times
• Assist customers with appropriate lane and target operation
• Know and follow emergency response plans when required
• Sell Memberships and Retail inventory
• Assist in performing daily duties outlined by management
• Keep center sanitary and neat
• Attend training as required by MGC Management
• Work as a team player with all staff
• Communicate in a professional and courteous manner with everyone
• Maintain a well-groomed, professional appearance at all times
• Adhere to MGC policies at all times

Physical Requirements:

• Able to lift 70 lbs.
• Stand or sit for an extended period of time

Qualifications:

• 21 years or older
• High School Diploma or equivalent
• Highly self-motivated/able to work without direction
• Naturally friendly and positive daily attitude
• Ability to multi-task and prioritize responsibilities
• Excellent communication skills
• Ability to carry out directives efficiently
• Proficient with handguns, rifles, and shotguns
• Desire to learn new skills and accept responsibility

This position reports to the General Manger. Additional duties may be assigned and this job description may change without notice at the discretion of management.
