Mission Critical Solutions is hiring for a Director of Low Voltage Operations in Tampa, FL. This is a full-time, permanent position with benefits.
The Director of Low Voltage Operations is responsible for effectively managing their respective line of business and their team members. The Director of Low Voltage Operations will require good communication skills and the ability to work well in a team setting. It is important that candidates keep abreast of industry trends and developments, as well as applicable Government regulations.
Typical Duties Include:
- Fiduciary Responsibilities
- Line of Business Profit and Loss
- Gross Profit or Growth Targets may be identified to support the strategic initiatives of MCS
- Strategic planning of future opportunities, partnering with other divisions, business development team, and company executives to properly forecast budgetary requirements for the electrical division for the upcoming fiscal year, revenue targets, and growth opportunities.
- The Director is responsible for managing their P&L regarding not only the project financials contributing to their P&L but also both Direct and Indirect costs associated with the performance of their teams and projects.
- Indirect costs include but are not limited to Tooling, Vehicles, and General and Administrative costs associated with managing the Line of Business.
- Project Budgets
- While the Director is not personally managing each project themselves, they are responsible for managing the Project Managers who have responsibility for the financial aspect of each individual project.
- This includes material buyouts, direct labor and manpower, rental equipment, and subcontractors.
- Cash Flow
- Each Director should work closely with their Project Managers to ensure positive cash flow is maintained for each of their projects.
- Contributors to this can be Large Material Buyouts
- Includes timely billings and payments through the customer
- Each Director should work closely with their Project Managers to ensure positive cash flow is maintained for each of their projects.
- Line of Business Profit and Loss
- Personnel Management
- Direct oversight of individuals who are identified within the director's organizational chart
- Includes but is not limited to:
- Direct management of Project Managers focusing on their deliverables and projects
- Oversight of field resources assigned to the Line of Business
- Training and Developing of Project Management Team and field resources
- Accountability and discipline of their team members
- Includes but is not limited to:
- Direct oversight of individuals who are identified within the director's organizational chart
- Corporate Responsibility
- Accuracy of Financial Reporting performed by their respective teams
- Identifying opportunities for revenue growth via change orders to their existing book of business.
- Customer satisfaction and relations with their existing customers from active projects
- Oversight of projects transitioned to their line of business with all required documentation.
Required:
Educational Requirements: College Degree Preferred
Experience Requirements: minimum of 7 years of related experience leading teams and projects

Fundamental Functions
Work Environment
- Work assignments may vary based on client requirements.
- Work may be performed inside a large facility. An inside environment may be a cubicle (considerations: close quarters, low to moderate noise, bright or dim lighting).
- Work may be performed in the field. Outside work may include various environmental conditions including hot, dusty, cold, wet, icy or windy climates.
Schedule
- Regular attendance in accordance with established work schedule is mandatory.
- It is important to be able to work any shift/designated hours required.
- You may be asked to continue performance during inclement weather or other conditions when others are not permitted to work.
- Position may require night and weekend work and could include travel with the military to participate in operations/exercises located in areas with varying field conditions.
Physical Requirements
- May require climbing, working at heights and in small, confined spaces such as under raised floors, inside closets and server racks. Must be able to sit, stoop, kneel or crouch for long periods of time. Work in noisy areas with hotter and colder temperature than standard office environmental conditions. Lift and transport equipment up to 50 pounds.
- Sitting at desk. Phone use and PC/laptop. May require lifting and carrying boxes of supplies or files up to 30 lbs. Extended periods of sitting while on PC/laptop or phone.
Equipment and Machines
- General office equipment includes but is not limited to: PC/laptop, telephone, copier, servers, switches, routers and other computer equipment that supports the network environment.
- General field equipment includes but is not limited to: hand tools, power tools, ladders, aerial/motorized lifts and test equipment.
- May require operating motor vehicles.
Travel
- Travel requirements will vary. Not all positions require travel.
- Valid Driver’s License is required to operate company vehicles.
- Continental and Overseas travel may be required. A current passport is required for Overseas travel.
Other Essential Functions
- Employment is contingent upon obtaining and maintaining required certifications or licenses through the duration of the project or contract. Failure to obtain/maintain required certifications will result in disqualification for this position and could result in termination.

- For office environments, grooming and dress is typically business casual but is dependent on client’s standards.
- For field environments, grooming and dress must not pose a safety hazard to yourself or employees working in the same general area.
