JOB SUMMARY: Medical Lab Tech will perform lab functions related to COVID-19 testing. They will use various machines, test methods, and other skills to complete the tasks required by Claremore Indian Hospital Laboratory department.
PRIMARY DUTIES:
The medical lab techs will:
- Perform a variety of routine tests and laboratory procedures in a medical laboratory for use in diagnosis and treatment of disease which include, but are not limited to:
- Urinalyses
- Clinical chemistry test
- Blood counts
- Perform analytic tests
- Prepare chemical reagent stains and solutions for automated equipment
- Prepare specimens
- Prepare tissue samples for study by another staff member
- Make preliminary identification of bacterial cultures subject to review by a supervisor
- Maintains laboratory stock of chemicals and glassware
- Collect specimens from patients.
- Answer the telephone, record and relay messages and/or redirect calls as necessary.
- Will refer urgent messages as necessary for immediate action
- Will be required to utilize the computer and programs such as Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
