The primary purpose of the Research Assistant I position is to provide technical assistance in carrying out various research projects and impacting efficient functioning of research activities.

Key Functions

  • Assists with research projects Radiation Oncology
  • Prepares and conducts tissue collection in accordance with established protocols
  • Operates laboratory apparatus and equipment
  • Documents and maintains record of data and findings in accordance with the methods requested
  • Clinical data tabulation and analysis
  • Report generation of collected datasets
  • Patient immobilization for research imaging
  • Research clinical data acquisition in accordance with established protocols
  • Patient reported outcome collection in accordance with established protocols
  • Dose-toxicity collection and report generation
  • Scheduling and coordination of patient research clinical treatment, procedures, and the creation and maintenance of research records in accordance with established protocols
  • Working with research animals (e.g. mice) in accordance with established protocols

Education

Required: Bachelor's degree, major course work in one of the basic sciences.

Experience

Required: No experience.

Preferred: Experience with patient contact and communication.

This position may be responsible for maintaining the security and integrity of critical infrastructure, as defined in Section 113.001(2) of the Texas Business and Commerce Code and therefore may require routine reviews and screening. The ability to satisfy and maintain all requirements necessary to ensure the continued security and integrity of such infrastructure is a condition of hire and continued employment.
