Position Summary: We are seeking an experienced Director of Laboratory Operations to lead day-to-day clinical lab operations while ensuring the highest standards of quality, compliance, and leadership excellence. This individual will play a critical role in overseeing both technical and administrative functions in a high-volume clinical laboratory environment that processes over 100,000 tests per day. The Director will report directly to the Vice President of Lab Operations and manage multiple direct reports, driving strategy, operational performance, and team development.Location Options (Onsite):

Operational Oversight & Strategic Planning:
- Lead overall operations of the clinical laboratory, including financial performance, staffing, and compliance.
- Drive operational efficiencies while managing productivity and cost controls.
- Analyze and use lab performance data to support capital planning, resource allocation, and long-term strategic decisions.
- Oversee and standardize laboratory policies and procedures to align with regulatory standards (CAP, federal, and state).
- Facilitate cross-departmental communication and ensure seamless collaboration across multiple lab sites.
- Lead development and expansion of lab service lines and long-term internal and external business initiatives.
- Build and mentor a high-performing team, setting clear expectations and fostering accountability.
- Champion a culture of continuous learning, engagement, and belonging.
- Develop and promote internal leadership and technical talent.
- Provide performance coaching and support succession planning to strengthen leadership bench depth.
- Ensure staff meet competency requirements and maintain accurate and compliant testing standards.
- Maintain rigorous quality control and assurance programs across all lab functions.
- Guarantee alignment with all federal, state, and CAP requirements.
- Ensure effective and timely resolution of issues for internal and external stakeholders.
- Drive customer satisfaction by ensuring consistent, high-quality lab services.
- Oversee a major platform transition in the Waters Department (endotoxin testing).
- Lead additional department-level implementations, including systems upgrades and change management initiatives.
Education:
- Bachelor's degree in medical technology or related sciences (required)
- Master's degree in business administration or relevant sciences (preferred)
- Medical Technologist registry required ( ASCP, AMT, AAB, or equivalent)
- Florida Supervisor License (preferred; must be obtained upon relocation to Florida)
- Minimum 8 years of laboratory management experience in a high-volume, complex lab environment.
- Proven success managing technical or platform transitions and overseeing multi-site operations.
- Strong history of developing leaders and building high-performance teams.
- Effective communicator with demonstrated ability to influence cross-functional stakeholders.
- Comfortable with managing change and executing strategic initiatives.
- Salary Range: $150,000-$180,000
- Additional: 20% performance-based bonus
