What are the responsibilities and job description for the Event Drape & Fabric Tech position at MDM Entertainment?
MDM Entertainment is looking for reliable hard workers who are available weekends to deliver, set up and remove drape and fabric installations for weddings and special events. Additional hours are available during the week sewing, laundering, and preparing inventory for events.
No experience is needed, training is provided, and you will work alongside experienced techs at the events.
Travel to and from event locations throughout Chicago and the suburbs from our Schaumburg office is required.
The job requires physical labor including the loading and unloading of delivery trucks and vans.
Job Requirements:
- Manage Fabric Inventory
- Launder & fold drape panels for storage
- Locate and pack inventory for weekly events
- Maintain the appearance of drape panels including sewing and repairing
- Install and remove drapery and hardware at events
- Assist the rest of your team with the setup and strike of all events scheduled to work
Candidates must:
- Be able to act in a mature and professional manner
- Be punctual and dependable
- Possess a solid work ethic
- Be able to work as part of a team or independently
- Be willing to learn new skills
- Have an eye for design and detail
- Have excellent problem-solving skills
- Have a valid driver’s license, a good driving record, valid auto insurance and reliable transportation
- Be able to perform physical labor and lift 50 lbs.
- Be comfortable working at heights and on ladders
- Be able to work weekends
- Enjoy working in a fast-paced environment and able to meet deadlines
- The position is part time (mainly on weekends). Saturday day and evening availability is a must.
