What are the responsibilities and job description for the Maintenance Technician position at MDS Foods Inc?
Responsible for the maintenance process involved for production and non production aspects of the TN Production Facility by performing the following duties:
Primary Responsibilities / Duties:
* Inspects tests and adjusts all machinery and equipment on a regular basis.
* Performs, and records preventative maintenance on all machinery according to manufacturer specifications.
* Troubleshoot machine controls, such as motor control, frequencies drives, PLC, etc
* Lubricates and cleans parts, and starts devices to test their performance.
* Assists in the training of other team members on any and all machinery.
* Performs various electrical and mechanical repairs on equipment or building.
* Fabrication of light parts such as small guards, chutes, extensions, etc.
* Responsible for calibration of all scales and weight monitoring systems.
* Communicates with Maintenance Supervisor of any parts, tools, or assistance from outside technical support needed.
* Organizes and maintains tools, storage bins, shelves, and cabinets within maintenance department.
* Completes appropriate paperwork and submits to management each day.
* Maintain a clean and safe department and maintains a positive community relationship.
* Responsible for proper clean up after completing work of any kind.
* Attend scheduled corporate training and meetings.
* Certified Tow Motor operator – (can be trained on-the-job)
* Adheres to GMP/SOP/HACCP/GFSI Food Safety and Quality policies.
* Responsible to report food safety or quality issues to personnel with authority to initiate actions.
* Other duties as assigned.
Skills/Qualifications:
* High School diploma required. Associate's Degree in Electromechanical Technology, Automated Manufacturing Systems
or related maintenance degree/certification preferred, 3 or more years of related Maintenance experience preferred
* Experience in Allen Bradley PLC and controls preferred
* Previous experience in food packaging and processing a plus
* Demonstrated ability to work with minimal supervision, effectively work in a fast paced environment, have strong
decision making skills and use good judgment.
* Ability to work a flexible schedule, weekend overtime or temporary reassignment to a different shift.
* Able to work in cool 50 degree production room or 34-38 degree coolers.
* Must be able to lift a minimum of 50 lbs.|

Pay: $40,000.00 - $50,000.00 per year
