Job Title: Human Resources Manager
Position Summary
The Human Resources Manager will run the entire Human Resources function for an organization of approximately 80 employees. This role serves as a strategic business partner to leadership while also handling all day-to-day HR operations. The ideal candidate is hands-on, people-focused, and confident managing employee relations, compliance, and organizational culture from hire to retire.
Key Responsibilities
Human Resources Operations
- Manage and process payroll through ADP, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and timeliness
- Own the full employee lifecycle: recruiting, hiring, onboarding, benefit orientations, open enrollment, employee changes, and terminations
- Maintain HR policies, procedures, and employee handbook; ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws
- Maintain employee records and HR systems
Recruiting & Onboarding
- Lead all recruiting efforts, including job postings, candidate screening, interviewing, and offer negotiations
- Partner with hiring managers to understand staffing needs and build strong teams
- Manage onboarding process to ensure a positive and compliant new-hire experience
Benefits Administration
- Administer all employee benefit programs, including medical, dental, vision, and retirement plans
- Lead benefit orientations and annual open enrollment
- Act as primary contact for benefit vendors and employee benefit questions
Employee Relations & Engagement
- Handle all employee relations matters, including conflict resolution, investigations, disciplinary actions, and performance issues
- Serve as a trusted advisor to leadership and employees on HR-related matters
- Lead employee engagement initiatives to support morale, retention, and company culture
- Coach managers on performance management, feedback, and difficult conversations
Strategic Partnership
- Act as a business partner to leadership, aligning HR strategy with organizational goals
- Provide guidance on organizational development, workforce planning, and best HR practices
- Support a positive, compliant, and high-performing work environment
Qualifications
- Proven experience running a full HR function independently
- Strong knowledge of payroll processing (ADP preferred), benefits administration, and employment law
- Excellent interpersonal, communication, and conflict-resolution skills
- Ability to handle sensitive situations with professionalism, discretion, and fairness
- Hands-on, proactive, and comfortable wearing multiple hats
