POSITION: TASTING ROOM HOST (PART-TIME)
POSITION SUMMARY:
The tasting room host provides an exemplary visitor experience and customer service for winery customers. Educates visitors through informative tastings and tours while promoting wine sales and list membership. Completes daily operational duties to support a high level of service delivery. Consistently promotes the brand in a manner that ensures that all visitors/customers receive a positive informative experience. Maintains a flexible work schedule to accommodate seasonal needs and winery events. Compensation is hourly rate plus tips and very competitive sales commissions.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS/DUTIES:
- Must be at least 21 years of age and legally/responsibly able to serve & sell wine.
- Maintains professional & positive demeanor & appearance. Delivers exemplary customer service.
- Must obtain CA RBS certification within 30 days of employment.
- Maintains functional knowledge of wine & viticulture. Ability to teach & inform visitors. Willing to train right candidate.
- Ability to appropriately and effectively promote wine sales. Represents winery in positive and appropriate manner at all times.
- Host wine tastings and tours both at winery and at offsite events- for individuals and groups.
- Basic computer proficiency and ability to work with POS. Basic cash handling and reconciliation skills.
- Basic computer proficiency. Ability to maintain computer records for customer, inventory and sales management.
- Delivers responsible wine service and able to enforce responsible hospitality guidelines & regulations.
- Maintains clean, safe and presentable tasting area- inside and outside of tasting room.
- Packs and prepares wine for shipment/delivery.
- Maintains flexible work schedule & availability for weekend, evening and holiday assignment.
Attends winery events and assists with winery outreach efforts; both onsite and offsite.
- Performs winery event set up and clean up as necessary.
- Open and close winery. Manage cash register operations & cash reconciliation. Prepares tasting room for effective and professional service each day.
- Performs effective email and telephone communications with customers. Includes, and not limited to, telephone/email outreach and sales promotions.
- Attend relevant service training as assigned.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Must have a valid CA driver’s license.
- Must be able to lift 50 pounds.

Pay: $20.00 per hour
Expected hours: 16 – 32 per week
