Job Description

As a CNC Mill Operator at Mechdyne, you will apply your critical thinking and analyzation skills to collaborate with teammates, create, and operate the daily functions of a CNC Mill. You will be directly involved with CNC Mill projects by operating the CNC Mill and understanding workloads and project priorities. You will handle these tasks:

  • Collaborate with project managers about workloads and project priorities
  • Create projects as necessary
  • Maintain inventory of cutting tools and CNC mill related consumables
  • Follow safety requirements and maintain certifications.
  • Inspect the machinery and product for quality assurance
  • Perform daily maintenance on the machinery
  • Handle materials appropriately and safely
  • Other duties as assigned by the Production Manager

Qualifications

We are looking for a candidate with these qualifications:

  • Strong math skills for inputting specific dimensions and figures into the CNC machinery (HAAS experience preferred but not required)
  • Ability to analyze the information provided on blueprints or other explanatory documents to make sure the final product matches the draft
  • Strong computer skills as CNC Mill Operators use computer software to control machinery
  • Understanding of how the machine works to maintain the machinery for which they are responsible and ensure it functions properly.
  • Problem-solving skills in order to detect issues in the creation process and find solutions to ensure the machinery creates the product provided in the draft
  • Experience with SolidCAM

Additional experience with the following preferred, but not required:

  • Solidworks
