Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner to join our growing Article 28 healthcare facility. This role requires 1 working day per work (either Tuesday or Wednesday). The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in psychiatric care, with the ability to provide comprehensive assessments, diagnoses, and treatment plans for patients with mental health disorders. This role requires excellent clinical skills, a commitment to patient-centered care, and the ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.
Responsibilities
- Conduct thorough psychiatric evaluations and assessments of patients.
- Develop and implement individualized treatment plans based on patient needs.
- Provide medication management and monitor patient responses to treatment.
- Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure holistic patient care.
- Document patient interactions accurately in electronic medical records (EMR/EHR systems).
- Provide education and support to patients and families regarding mental health conditions and treatments.
- Participate in clinical research initiatives as needed.
- Maintain compliance with HIPAA regulations and other relevant standards.
- Engage in telehealth services as appropriate for patient care.
Requirements
- Master’s degree in Nursing with a specialization in Psychiatry or Mental Health.
- Current state licensure as a Nurse Practitioner.
- Experience in behavioral health settings is preferred
- Familiarity with EMR systems such as Epic, Cerner, Athenahealth, or eClinicalWorks.
- Knowledge of ICD-10 and CPT coding for accurate medical documentation.
- Proficiency in various clinical skills including IV insertion, phlebotomy, suturing, and medication administration.
- Understanding of psychopharmacology and acute pain management techniques.
- Experience in critical care settings such as ICU or emergency medicine is advantageous.
- Strong interpersonal skills for effective communication with patients and team members.
