Overview
The psychiatrist position diagnoses, prescribes medication, monitors medication side effects and participates in the treatment process.
Qualifications
- M.D. or D.O. degree.
- Board Certified Psychiatrist.
- Must have and maintain a current Controlled Substances Registration Certificate from the U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration.
- Must have and maintain a current Physician License and Controlled Substance License from the State of Georgia
Responsibilities
- Completes Psychiatric evaluation for child and adult patients.
- Performs clinical screening and referral of all conditions in need of consultation from medical, nonpsychiatric specialties.
- Reviews and follows up on treatments ordered by other physicians.
- Reviews, approves and signs all encounters/progress notes for patients.
- Reviews all nonpsychiatric medical orders and prescriptions.
- Performs crisis intervention for patients, during nonoffice hours as assigned, making daily reports to the Medical Director and/or Director of Behavioral Health.
- Consults and advises the provider staff and Medical Director and/or Director of Behavioral Health.
