Summary

Monitor and reconcile various accounts and assist in the preparation of financial statements and annual budgets.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Prepares and keeps financial and business transactions data up-to-date and prepares reports to ensure accurate accounting records.
  • Prepares, records, and verifies information.
  • Calculates, posts, and processes transactions and other clerical finance related support.
  • Monitor budget accounts and expenditures.
  • Monitor standing orders and commitments
  • Monitor grant accounts to ensure accuracy of budget assignments and expenditures.
  • Assist in preparing and writing grant information for submission.
  • Interact with faculty/staff on grant agency spending policies and procedures.
  • Assist in preparing semi-monthly financial statements.
  • Assist in preparing the annual budget.
  • Prepare all deposits for external and internal funds received by the department.
  • Coordinate special projects as needed.

Knowledge – Skills – Abilities

  • Knowledge of computers, clerical procedures, customer service standards, collaboration, and information management.
  • Organization, time management, interpersonal, communication, and problem solving skills.

Qualifications

Appropriate experience may be substituted for education on an equivalent basis.

Minimum Required Education: High school diploma

Minimum Required Experience: 2 years

Physical Requirements

Work requires occasionally lifting moderate weight materials, standing, or walking continuously.

Work Environment

Occasional exposure to dust, noise, temperature changes, or contact with water or other liquids. Work is performed in an environmentally controlled environment.

Sensory Acuity

Ability to detect and translate speech or other communication required. May occasionally require the ability to distinguish colors and perceive relative distances between objects.
