The Human Resource Director will plan, lead, direct, develop, and coordinate the policies and activities of the Human Resources (HR) department, ensuring legal compliance and implementation of the organization’s mission and talent strategy. This person must be a true HR professional and love to cast vision and perform typical, daily HR functions.

- Collaborate with senior leadership to understand the organization’s goals and strategy related to staffing, recruiting, and retention.
- Plan, lead, develop, coordinate, and implement policies, processes, training, initiatives, and surveys to support the organization’s human resource compliance and strategy needs.
- Administer, perform and/or oversee the administration of human resource programs including, but not limited to, payroll, compensation/total rewards, benefits, and leave; disciplinary matters; disputes and investigations; performance and talent management; productivity, recognition, and morale; occupational health and safety; immigration compliance, and training and development.
- Oversee staffing and recruiting needs; develop and execute best hiring and talent management practices.
- Conduct research and analysis of organizational trends, including reviewing reports and metrics from the organization’s human resource information system (HRIS) or talent management system.
- Monitor and ensure the organization’s compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, and recommend best practices; review and modify policies and practices to maintain compliance.
- Maintain knowledge of trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and new technologies in human resources, talent management, and employment law; communicate changes in policy, practice, and resources to upper management.
- Perform other duties as required.
- Closely adhere to all MIE/EH policies and procedures.
Qualifications
- At least five years of proven human resource management experience is required.
- Experience in Software Development or Technology-related field is preferred.
- Experience with growth-stage companies is preferred.
- Extensive, professional written communication skills.
- Strong verbal communication skills.
- Active listening skills.
- Ability to function as part of a collaborative team
- Self-directed individual who is highly motivated and able to organize and manage own work
- Limited travel possible (for example, attending periodic conferences)
- Ability to pass Criminal Background and Drug Screen Checks
- Eligibility to work in the United States
Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field required; Master’s degree preferred.
SHRM or HRCI certification is highly preferred.
