We are hiring for the following:

Position:    Corporate Nurse Educator

Location: Throughout MEDIKO company sites (50-75% travel)

Responsibilities:

• Between 50-75% Travel
• Support the training and education for new and existing staff
• Assist in the development of new and/or existing clinical competencies and training for staff
• Participate in new staff post-orientation validation competencies and tests
• Tracking staff’s completed training, competency, and/or testing, as applicable, to ensure the training plan is completed as expected, while at the site
• Assist site leadership team with annual competencies, ongoing training, and educational initiatives needed at the site-level
• Conduct site audits of policies and procedures and clinical practices
• Assist with Continuous Quality Improvement activities as needed
• Serve as a mentor to staff, and identify growth opportunities and educational needs
• Promote critical thinking among nurses, and show commitment to professional development and lifelong learning
• Maintain current knowledge of trends in area of expertise
• Perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications

• Correctional experience Required
• Graduate from an accredited registered nursing program; BSN degree preferred
• Registered Nurse (RN) with correctional experience required, educational / teaching experience strongly desired
• Active multi-state registered nursing license required
• Minimum three (3) years of experience required, prefer at least one (1) year in corrections
• Current CPR/BLS certification (American Heart Association or American Red Cross guideline approved)
• Requires travel to MEDIKO contracted facilities and to Corporate Office in VA
