Responsibilities:
- Provide daily care and supervision for animals in the kennel facility
- Feed, water, and exercise animals according to their specific needs
- Clean and sanitize kennels, cages, and common areas daily
- Administer medications and treatments as directed by veterinary staff
- Monitor the health and behavior of animals and report any concerns to the appropriate personnel
- Assist with grooming tasks such as bathing, brushing, and nail trimming
- Provide basic training and socialization for dogs
- Maintain accurate records of animal care, including feeding schedules and behavior observations
- Assist with daily laundering and general shelter cleaning.
- Greet and work with future pet owners.
- Assist with answering phones.
Qualifications:
- Experience working with and caring for animals.
- Knowledge of animal handling techniques and safety protocols for all behavioral types.
- Exhibits excellent communication and customer service skills.
- Possesses keen attention to detail and can accurately follow instructions.
- Basic understanding of veterinary terminology and procedures is a plus.
- Maintains the ability to multitask.
- Can lift/carry objects and animals of moderate weight.
- Able to bend, stoop, kneel, crouch, push as well as perform other related physical activities as may be necessary.
- Must maintain a valid driver’s license.
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: From $15.00 per hour
Expected hours: 16 – 24 per week
