What are the responsibilities and job description for the Phlebotomy Specialty Technician - PRN position at medstar?
Phlebotomist may be utilized in the following settings: out-patient, in-patient and outreach (i.e. nursing homes, assisted living and hospital organized outreach opportunities) and on-call. Performs all aspects of phlebotomy functions and specimen collections to include venous and capillary collections and/or glucose testing, while following the proper standards and practices. Verifies patient insurance and performs basic data entry to register and accession in and/or out-patient orders while complying with the MedStar Laboratory Compliance Plan. This position is PRN, must be able to commit to a minimum of 2 shifts per month. Working hours may be 4:30am to 12:30pm or 12:30pm to 10pm.
