A Day in the Life
Medtronic's Fort Worth, TX facility seeks a Technician II who will support the service and repair of Medtronic's Powered Surgical Solutions division, with potential involvement in additional product lines.
The Technician II for Service & Repair will perform a range of duties including diagnosing and reporting product issues, troubleshooting, managing parts, conducting repairs, packaging, collecting data, leading lean manufacturing enhancements, assessing inventory, prioritizing daily tasks, presenting to management, and engineering teams, and utilizing ERP and QMS systems

Medtronic's Fort Worth, TX facility seeks a Technician II who will support the service and repair of Medtronic's Powered Surgical Solutions division, with potential involvement in additional product lines.
The Technician II for Service & Repair will perform a range of duties including diagnosing and reporting product issues, troubleshooting, managing parts, conducting repairs, packaging, collecting data, leading lean manufacturing enhancements, assessing inventory, prioritizing daily tasks, presenting to management, and engineering teams, and utilizing ERP and QMS systems
Responsibilities may include the following and other duties may be assigned.
- Performs a variety of duties on electronic, mechanical, electromechanical devices.
- Constructs, troubleshoots, calibrates, adjusts, tests, diagnoses, and maintains equipment, components, devices, or systems.
- Works from schematics, engineering drawings and written or verbal instructions.
- Operates related equipment; conducts tests and reports data in prescribed format.
- Performs calibration and alignment checks; adjusts, modifications, and replacements as directed.
- Assists with New Product Development and sustaining improvements.
To qualify for this position, candidates must meet the following criteria:
- Minimum of 2 years of relevant experience and may require vocational or technical education or certification in addition to prior work experience
Additionally, the following skills and qualifications are desirable:
- Some project management experience is preferred.
- Base knowledge of Lean and Six sigma.
- Experience with cycle counting and inventory management.
- Ability to take initiative and be self-managed.
- Ability to implement countermeasures to work through technical roadblocks.
- Ability to lift 30 pounds.
- Associate degree or technical certificate in relevant field
- Experience working in a regulated industry
- Knowledge of navigating quality systems
- Technical knowledge of manufacturing processes
- Mechanical and electrical print reading skills for use in diagnosing and correcting equipment/tooling issues
- Strong technical writing skills
- Good computer skills (MS Word, Excel)
- Diverse background to work in multiple workstreams.
- Aptitude for quickly learning and assimilating a broad array of information
- Experience in medical product manufacturing / assembly operations
- Experience working in FDA & ISO 13485 regulated industry
