Hi, I’m Wei, founder of Kindling AI. We’re building the first emotionally intelligent companion for caregivers, designed to strengthen relationships between parents and their children through everyday moments in a way that honors their values, instincts, and growth.

Kindling helps caregivers understand their own patterns, reflect with compassion, and build trust-based relationships with their children.

We’re in closed alpha with real families and a validated onboarding framework. Now I’m looking for a technical co-founder to build alongside me.

This is an early-stage, equity-only role. We’re building something ambitious and deeply human from the ground up, and I’m looking for someone who is excited to shape the foundation with care, creativity, and conviction.

👀 Who I’m Looking For

You're someone who cares about building something thoughtful and useful. You’re motivated by impact and energized by supporting diverse families in building stronger emotional bonds.

You might be a full-stack engineer or an AI-native technologist who’s curious about emotions, trust, and reflective technology. You know how to ship, and you know how to listen.

You're excited about early stage creation and thoughtful decision-making that balances feasibility, care, and long-term integrity.

As Kindling is built by parents for parents, I’d especially love to work with someone who is a current caregiver to a minor. Your lived experience matters here. It informs how we design, what we prioritize, and how we earn the trust of other families.

You might bring:

• Experience building and scaling consumer-facing apps (mobile or web)
• Curiosity and discernment around using LLMs, embeddings, and retrieval strategies thoughtfully
• An experimental mindset when it comes to tooling, with a strong lens for evaluating tradeoffs and long-term fit
• A balance of frontend UX care and backend pragmatism
• Strong product instincts and a desire to co-create at every layer of the experience
• Ideally: experience or interest in culturally inclusive, emotionally sensitive design

• Our first fully integrated mobile experience
• Real-time emotional reflection and guidance engine
• Secure, ethical infrastructure for storing family data with trust
• Feedback loop between user growth, insight generation, and product evolution
• Future layers like co-parenting sync tools, repair tracking, and storytelling prompts
