What are the responsibilities and job description for the Social Service Worker II/Ohio START Caseworker position at Meigs County Department of Job and Family Service?
The Meigs County Department of Job and Family Services/Children Services Division is seeking qualified applicants to fill a Social Services Worker II/Ohio START Caseworker position. Under supervision the Ohio START caseworker will maintain caseload of children/families who have previously been determined to be at -risk and require the protective assistance of the services of the agency (i.e., ongoing clients) as determined appropriate and/or manages caseload of foster care and/or adoption assessment and placements of Ohio START families. This will include, initial interviews to devise treatment plans, conduct drug screens, develop case plans with participation from the family, youth and alternate caregivers. Schedules and conducts ongoing visits with families, and facilitates team and family meetings. Coordinate agency services with Juvenile Court, MST, Mental Health agencies/providers, DD and other community partners.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: A bachelor’s degree in social work, human services or closely related field of study is required, plus a valid driver’s license. An Associate Degree in a human service-related study will be accepted, as long as a Bachelor's Degree in the above fields are obtained within 5 years of hire.
