Position Summary
The Human Resources Generalist is responsible for supporting the Manager of Human Resources with all human resource-related core functions. The Human Resources Generalist also serves as a business partner to our internal customers.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following.
- Management of the candidate to employee experience from obtaining job descriptions, recruiting, and onboarding.
- Administer, track, and evaluate all New Hire Orientation and Onboarding training.
- Supervise new hires during the training period and make recommendations to management and/or Human Resources regarding training needs, concerns and continued employment.
- Processes all pre-employment activities for new hires including drug screen
· Ensure all paperwork for employee status changes is complete and carried out appropriately.
· Ensures all new hires are entered timely in HRIS system and coordinated with Payroll department.
· Maintain departmental HR Calendar.
· Oversee job bid process and maintain crewing report.
· Serve as a point of contact for employees, addressing queries, concerns, and grievances.
· Foster a positive working environment by proactively identifying and addressing potential sources of conflict or dissatisfaction.
· Provide counsel to supervisors and managers on employee relations matters, ensuring fairness and consistency.
- Conduct thorough, unbiased investigations in response to employee complaints or allegations of policy violations.
- Promote the development of employees by building strong relationships and becoming a trusted resource.
- Maintain accurate record keeping such as personnel files, attendance records, etc.
- Maintains compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, and recommended best practices.
- Produce regular reports on HR metrics, such as turnover rates, employee satisfaction, and the outcomes of investigations.
- Assist with cultural improvement initiatives, wellness activities, and internal employee engagement opportunities.
· Work on activities and/or projects as requested by Human Resources Manager and VP Human Resources
Education and/or Experience
- A bachelor’s degree in human resources or relevant field of study from an accredited university of college, and progressive HR generalist and leadership experience is required.
Computer Skills
· Proficient competency with the Microsoft Office Suite
· Experience with HRIS.
