Job Summary
We are seeking a dependable and detail-oriented Basic Service Automotive Technician to join our service team. This role is responsible for performing routine vehicle maintenance, inspections, and basic repairs while delivering high-quality customer service in a fast-paced environment. The ideal candidate has a strong work ethic, mechanical aptitude, and a desire to grow within the automotive industry.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform routine maintenance services including oil changes, tire rotations, fluid checks, filter replacements, and battery services
- Conduct basic vehicle inspections and report findings to senior technicians or service advisors
- Mount, balance, and repair tires as needed
- Maintain clean and organized work areas and follow shop safety procedures
- Accurately complete service documentation and vehicle checklists
- Assist experienced technicians with repairs and shop tasks as needed
- Communicate clearly with team members regarding vehicle conditions and service needs
- Dependable attendance and teamwork skills
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
- Basic automotive knowledge or hands-on experience (formal training a plus)
- Valid driver’s license
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work in a physically active environment
- Strong attention to detail and willingness to learn
- Reliable, punctual, and team-oriented attitude
Preferred Skills (Not Required)
- Experience with tire equipment and basic shop tools
- Entry-level automotive certifications (ASE or technical school coursework)
- Customer service experience
- Diagnostic experience
