SCHEDULE:
The Diner Attendant must be available to work 15-35 hours per week. Employee needs to be available to work during diner hours which are 7:00 am to 6:00 pm, Monday through Saturday. This position is nonexempt from overtime and will be required to work overtime hours as needed.
SUMMARY:
Greet customers, prepare food orders, clean the diner area, and enter data.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Greet customers
- Actively seek to engage and develop rapport with customers
- Take food orders and payment
- Prepare food orders
- Make salads, sandwiches, wraps, and pizzas
- Wrap or place in containers for carryout
- Dish out vegetables, ladle sauce, soups, and fill beverage glasses
- Stock items
- Clean diner area
- Wipe down counters
- Clean dishes according to Kansas health standards
- Data entry
- Keep track of employee tabs
- Add new employee’s into system
- Enter orders
QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS:
Experience
- 1 year of food preparation experience preferred
Education / Certifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent is required
Skills
- Efficient Keyboarding and 10-keying skill
- Excellent communication skills
- Ability to work well with personnel and vendors
- Ability to resolve problems
- Excellent active listening and speaking skills
- Customer service oriented – this position requires a person who will actively seek to engage and develop rapport with customers.
- Professional appearance
Certifications / Licensures
- Valid Kansas Driver’s License,
- Acceptable Motor Vehicle Record as outlined by company policy
Work Environment & Physical Requirements
- Indoor environment, near front door (minor exposure to outdoor conditions)
- Very frequent standing
- Very frequent use of hand dexterity (use of keyboard, mouse)
- Very frequent use of near and medium range vision (18 inches to 25 feet)
- Occasional lifting of up to 35lbs
