Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA)
Qualifications and responsibilities:
- Have sound knowledge of learning theory and the applications for positive behavioral interventions. (ex. applied behavioral analysis, behavioral modification strategies, use of visual supports to assist students with self regulation)
- Develop behavioral management plans for students at risk that can be implemented in meeting student needs throughout the school day
- Develop and organize plans for students with social, emotional and behavioral needs to be implemented by the teachers and other staff
- Direct, adjust or develop elements of student instructional and behavioral plans
- Provide in class support to students as necessary
- Provide direct instruction for both behavior and academics to students in the learning center when necessary
- Collect, maintain, and interpret behavioral data
- Assess, develop and monitor behavior interventions for students demonstrating behaviors hindering their learning process
- Participate in the IEP process as necessary
- Member of the building emergency response team, use de-escalation best practices, and skilled crisis prevention and intervention
- BCBA Certification required
