Restaurant Assistant Manager Job Summary
The Restaurant Shift Lead is a leader who is committed to and responsible for supporting the General Manager (GM) in implementing all restaurant operations. Leadership by example, communication skills, attention to detail and ability to perform duties with minimal oversight are critical aspects of the job. The shift lead helps ensure all team members are performing their job responsibilities and meeting expectations in all aspects of their job descriptions.
Restaurant Assistant Manager Responsibilities
- The shift-lead consistently provides a quality product and guest service experience that delivers total guest satisfaction. They model and creates an environment in which the guest is always right and ensures a positive guest service experience.
- The shift-lead responds positively and quickly to guest concerns. He or she corrects potential problems before they affect our guests.
- The shift-lead helps hire high-quality people who demonstrate and ensure consistent guest satisfaction.
- The shift-lead helps to continuously improve the skills, knowledge and morale of all team members. He or she treats the team members with dignity and respect and creates an environment where the entire team does the same.
- The shift-lead helps the GM to effectively utilize all training programs from new employee orientation up to and including management training classes.
- The shift-lead helps the GM maximize financial performance and profit.
Restaurant Assistant Manager Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent preferable.
- Good verbal and written communication skills; is capable of communicating effectively with guests and co-workers; bilingual skills a plus.
- Restaurant experience preferable, including full service, quick serve or fast food.
- Must have or obtain a current Food Handlers Permit within 30 days of employment.
