What are the responsibilities and job description for the Construction Materials Technician(CMT- Technician) position at Memco?
MEMCO is looking for a Construction Material Technician in the Corpus Christi area. The candidate will be responsible for testing and inspecting a variety of construction materials such as soils, concrete, and pile monitoring. The ideal candidate will be ACI, NICET, or TXDOT certified. Both experienced and inexperienced candidates are encouraged to apply. Training will be provided as needed.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Responsible for conducting field or laboratory testing, sampling, and/or inspection services.
- Contact the dispatcher/ coordinator for priorities and deadlines in both field and laboratory.
- Meet with contractors' supervisors, engineers/architect representatives, or other project leaders on job sites to discuss and coordinate testing, sampling, or inspection of construction materials or construction procedures.
- Ensure the safe, storage, and upkeep of all nuclear gauges.
- Ensure the safe operation and maintenance of each company vehicle, field, and laboratory equipment.
- Every day, communicate with onsite clients and relay any information to the supervisor as per delay or progress.
- Daily basis, submit accurate and complete testing/ inspection reports.
Skills & Qualifications:
- Flexibility in work schedule.
- Able to work in different environments.
- Valid driver’s license
- Analyze sample results using simple math.
- Must be able to pass drug screening
- Must be able to pass background check.
- TXDOT, ACI, NICET certification.
- Capable of physically lifting heavy materials and equipment.
- Communicate effectively orally and in writing—present ideas clearly and in a professional manner.
