What You’ll Do
You’ll jump into meaningful actuarial and risk management work from day one, including:
- Supporting updates to the Actuarial Analysis System (AAS) by compiling expense provisions from current actuarial workbooks
- Assisting with enhancements to MEMIC’s Own Risk Solvency Assessment (ORSA) model by integrating economic and market data into risk models, conducting ESG (Environmental, Social & Governance) research and enhancing reporting capabilities and helping design new model functionality
- Performing loss reserve analysis across assigned states
- Selecting development factors for loss, ALAE, and ULAE
- Making initial selections of ultimate loss and expense estimates to support financial projections
- Pursuing an Associate’s degree or higher
- Curiosity, analytical thinking, and a love for solving complex problems
- Comfort working with data and learning new tools
- Strong communication skills — because explaining numbers is just as important as crunching them
- You’ll work with real actuarial models that influence company decisions
- You’ll build resume‑ready skills in risk modeling, data analysis, and financial forecasting
- You’ll see how math becomes strategy — and how actuaries help shape the future
- You’ll get exposure to ESG, market data, and risk frameworks that are shaping the industry
