Memorial Health Care Systems, an award-winning Critical Access Hospital is seeking a full-time candidate as Accountant. This position is responsible for general accounting functions including general ledger entries. The candidate must possess the ability to process and analyze data with high attention to detail. Expertise in Excel and financial software products required. A minimum of Associate's degree in Accounting required, Bachelor's preferred. Health care experience is helpful.
SUMMARY: The Accountant provides financial information by researching and analyzing accounting data, and preparing reports. The Accountant is responsible for accurately performing general accounting tasks which may include journal entries, cash reconciliations and monthly/yearly financial statements with minimum supervision.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Listed below; other duties may be assigned.
- Be familiar with hospital’s general ledger, chart of accounts, and assist with updating.
- Assist with monthly general ledger journal entries.
- Assist with account reconciliations and accruals.
- Accumulate patient statistics, labor information and revenue data for monthly/quarterly reporting.
- Work with reporting bodies such as Medicare/Medicaid to complete reporting requirements as mandated.
- Prepare monthly and yearly reports as directed.
- Assist with budget workpapers.
- Assist with audit workpapers.
- Assist with Fixed Assets.
- Protect operations by keeping financial information confidential.
- Maintain financial security by following internal controls.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $22.50 - $36.00 per hour
