Daily Practice Management:
Job Description: The Head Swim Coach at Memphis Country Club is responsible for leading and managing the club’s swim program, including the development and execution of daily swim practices, overseeing swim meets, and fostering a positive and competitive environment for all swim team members. This role requires a strong leader who can inspire athletes, collaborate with staff, and communicate effectively with parents and club management.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Plan, organize, and lead daily swim practices for various age groups and skill levels.
- Develop training programs that focus on stroke technique, endurance, and overall performance improvement.
- Monitor and assess swimmers’ progress, providing feedback and adjustments to individual training plans as needed.
Swim Meet Coordination:
- Organize and manage 4-5 swim meets per season, including both home and away meets.
- Coordinate with opposing teams, officials, and Swim Moms to ensure smooth operation of home meets.
- Prepare heat sheets and manage entries through TeamUnify and oversee the performance of swimmers during competitions.
Team Leadership and Development:
- Foster a supportive and inclusive team culture that encourages sportsmanship, teamwork, and personal growth.
- Provide mentorship and guidance to swimmers, helping them set and achieve personal and team goals.
- Maintain regular communication with swimmers, parents, and club management regarding team progress, upcoming events, and any concerns.
- Participate in the recruitment and selection of assistant coaches, if necessary.
Safety and Compliance:
- Ensure all practices and meets are conducted in a safe environment, adhering to all club and governing body safety protocols.
- Stay updated on the latest rules and regulations related to competitive swimming.
- Enforce club policies and rules during practices, meets, and other swim-related activities.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Proven experience as a Head Swim Coach or Assistant Swim Coach at a competitive level.
- Strong knowledge of competitive swimming techniques and training methods.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
- Ability to motivate and inspire athletes of all ages and skill levels.
- CPR, First Aid, and Lifeguard certification (preferred).
- Ability to work flexible hours, including early mornings, evenings, and weekends.
- Knowledge of TeamUnify programing and Memphis Summer Swim League Rules & Regulations (preferred)
