Graphic Designer

The Opportunity

The Graphic Designer is responsible for supporting and assisting with the Memphis Grizzlies, Memphis Hustle, FedExForum, Grind City Media and Grizz Gaming brands in the marketplace, in-arena and broadcast. You will create marketing promotional materials, print and digital assets for every business operations department, with an emphasis on partnership and sales collateral. Additionally, you will assist in social media graphics and produce collateral and publication materials for basketball operations.

In This Role You Will

• Design and build a wide variety and high volume of cross-platform materials efficiently, including but not limited to digital, in-arena, broadcast, printed and other executions as needed;
• Contribute and work within existing creative direction, and follow Grizzlies, Hustle, FedExForum, Grind City Media and Grizz Gaming graphic standards and brand guidelines;
• Develop, monitor and execute creative projects through all phases of print and digital asset production;
• Take direction from the Sr. Graphic Designer and occasionally receive feedback from the Art Director;
• Execute creative project direction, goals and requirements as set and assigned by the Creative Project Manager;
• Build and maintain effective working relationships throughout the organization;
• Contribute to the file management process within departmental tools: archiving, manipulating and distributing Grizzlies, FedExForum, Hustle, Grind City Media and Grizz Gaming photography, branding and design files according to Grizzlies, NBA and other guidelines;
• Work evenings, weekend or holidays as needed;
• Other duties as assigned.

The Experience You Will Bring

• Bachelor’s degree in Graphic Design, or equivalent professional work experience.
• 1-3 years experience creating animations and graphic designs.
• Strong graphic design and production skills.
• Proficient in Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator, Acrobat).
• Flexibility in handling a variety of assignments with changing priorities and parameters.
• Strong typesetting and page layout skills.
• Strong grammatical, spelling, proofreading and writing abilities a must.
• Fluent in creation of interactive PDF files.
• Ability to work quickly and efficiently.
• Independent, creative problem-solver.
• Highly organized, motivated and responsible with strong time and project management abilities.
• Willingness and ability to understand, support and contribute to the Grizzlies’ overall business objectives.
• A team player with excellent interpersonal skills and a strong customer service orientation.

Nice to Have:

• Graphic design degree or certificate from an accredited art/technical college preferred.
• Experience with motion and interactive graphics is a plus.
• Experience working for professional or college sports team.
