What are the responsibilities and job description for the School Nutrition Worker position at Menomonie Area School District?
The Menomonie School District is seeking several School Nutrition Workers to work in the school kitchen, locations and hours to be determined. These positions are to work Monday through Friday, on days that school is in session. Wages, hours and conditions of employment in accordance with the employee handbook. Start date will be as soon as possible. Starting wage is $18.40 per hour and these positions will be between 3 and 5.75 hours per day over the lunch period, exact times dependent on need.
Duties include cold food prep, pack out of cold food, dishwashing, computer and other duties as needed. Positions require frequent standing; lifting up to 50 pounds; short and long-distance walking; reaching; and repetitive motion tasks using hands and arms. Work environment exposures include extreme temperature changes; slippery walking surfaces; variable working surfaces; handling sharp objects. Physical activity can be strenuous and demanding at times. Positions require critical thinking, problem-solving and appropriate decision-making skills. Basic mathematical computation and language usage are necessary skills. New hires must have the ability to report early and stay late when necessary.
These positions work in partnership with the Nutrition Director, Assistant Director, Production Cooks and other food service workers to support a sound school nutrition program, following federal, state and local guidelines. The school nutrition program is to provide an environment that supports healthy food habits while maintaining program integrity and customer satisfaction. Maintaining ServSafe certification is a requirement of the position. The positions will remain open until filled with ongoing review of applications. EOE.
