Mental Health Association in Beaver County (MHA) is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization dedicated to advancing mental health advocacy, support, and education. Our mission is to welcome and empower, provide advocacy and socialization programs, and support recovery for individuals with mental health and co-occurring challenges. With a 70-year history of providing advocacy, education, and resocialization opportunities, we seek an entrepreneurial Executive Director to build on our exceptional legacy.
Founded in 1955, MHA focuses on recovery-oriented programs that promote wellness and support for individuals with mental health and co-occurring challenges. Our services are funded by Beaver County Behavioral Health, The United Way of Beaver County, grants, and generous donations from individuals, churches, civic organizations, and businesses that align with our mission.
Position Summary:
The Executive Director will provide leadership and manage the day-to-day operations of the organization, ensuring fiscal responsibility and meeting community needs. Responsibilities include financial management, community and public relations, overseeing programs and staff, and supporting the board in fundraising efforts. The ideal candidate will demonstrate a strong commitment to mental health recovery and bring a diverse range of experiences and skills to MHA, including:
- Management Experience: Proven track record in senior executive roles within non-profit, public, or corporate organizations.
- Respect and Empathy: Deep respect for individuals with mental health and co-occurring challenges.
- Fiscal Management: Experience in budgeting and financial oversight.
- Strategic Planning: Expertise in strategic planning and policy development.
- Fundraising Skills: Demonstrated experience in development and fundraising.
Qualifications:
· Master’s degree in a relevant field (e.g., Social Work, Public Health, Psychology, Non-Profit Management) or equivalent experience.
· Minimum of three years of experience in non-profit management, program management, or peer support.
· Strong knowledge of mental health issues, advocacy strategies, and a recovery-focused approach to behavioral health services.
· Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
· Ability to work independently and collaboratively
