Athletic Facilities Manager
Summary: The Athletic Facilities Operations Staff position is part of a team that maintains the athletic facilities and provides support for athletic and other school related events. While this position is primarily responsible for cleaning and preventive maintenance, it will also cross-train to inventory management assistance and outdoor/indoor facility preparation and upkeep. Position will work 3-4 Saturdays each athletic season.
This position typically works Monday through Friday 6:00am to 2:30pm, with 3-4 Saturdays during each athletic season covering the issue room and other daily duties. Flex schedule may be utilized for special event weeks.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Clean all areas of the athletic complex, including, but not limited to, practice and competition venues, team rooms, offices, conference and meeting rooms, and halls and stairwells.
- Clean restrooms and locker rooms and maintain adequate supplies of paper towels, toilet paper, hand soap, etc.
- Wash windows, gather inside trash, sweep outside porches and sidewalks.
- Assist with school-related event set ups and tear downs, including athletic contests, along with inclement weather duties, as needed.
- Other duties, as needed and as assigned, to assist in the operations of the athletic department and the athletic facilities.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Must be able to bend, stoop, or lift up to 70 lbs.; traverse multiple steps, climb 6 ft. step ladder, move equipment and related items as needed.
- Working knowledge or the ability to learn how to operate the equipment utilized in maintenance of the athletic facilities, including, but not limited to floor buffers, floor scrubbers, and field lining equipment, walk-behind lawn mowers, snowblowers, and utility vehicles.
- Ability to use all cleaning devices utilized in the maintenance of the athletic facilities, including, but not limited to, vacuums, wet and dry mops, shovels, hand tools, and brooms.
- Good communication skills with students, coaches and faculty .
- Must be able to work independently and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.

Environment: Work is performed in both indoor and outdoor environments in all types of weather and temperature conditions. The noise level is moderate to loud.
Physical: Primary functions require sufficient physical ability and mobility to walk and stand for prolonged periods of time without restrictions; to frequently stoop, bend, kneel, crouch, and climb; to reach, twist, grasp, grip and make repetitive hand movement on a continuous basis; may need to climb on ladders and lifts; to lift up to 70 lbs., carry, push, and/or pull moderate to heavy amounts of weight; sufficient manual dexterity and eye-hand coordination to operate a variety of building trades tools and equipment and vehicles; and to verbally communicate to exchange information.
Vision: See in the normal visual range with or without correction, to determine proper and complete cleaning.
Hearing: Hear in the normal audio range with or without correction.

Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Computer skills proficiency including typing, data entry into a database system, utilizing an email system, and applying online resources.
- One to three years of maintenance or related experience in an athletic facility or other facility
- Any equivalent combination of experience, training, and/or education approved by Human Resources
